Nowadays it seems that every couple of weeks a new health/inspirational documentary is released – this is fantastic news for us!
Documentaries are a great way for the “little guy” to spread the good word.
Over the years I’ve watched quite a few great documentaries and I want to recommend a few.
When you’re looking to have a low key night, watch one of the following movies to learn and be inspired.
This film features interviews with various health experts including Kris Carr, Jamie Oliver and David Wolfe. It is put together by the makers of Food Matters and emphasizes the importance of a real food diet for vibrant health. I loved this movie – it’s a must see for anyone into natural health and nutrition.
This inspirational film was put together by the director Tom Shadyac of Ace Ventura – “AAAlrighty then.” After recovering from a near death mountain biking accident he made this film about what is wrong with the world today and what can we do about it. This movie did start off slowly but make sure and hang in there as it picks up later on.
This documentary looks at what truly makes people happy. It includes interviews with experts in happiness research along with real life stories from various people around the world. Tom Shadyac from above movie “I Am” helped produce this film. What a wonderful subject ๐
The website Gaiam TV has two of the above movies available to watch by streaming them online (I Am and Happy). This site is loaded with great documentaries and yoga movies. They have a deal on right now for a 10 day free trial so you can watch these movies and then cancel the trial before the 10 days are up so you pay nothing. Another idea would be to cancel your Netflix and subscribe to this site instead – I’m not affiliated with Gaiam TV ๐
So, next time you decide to watch some TV, put that episode of Dexter aside and spend some quality time with one of these documentaries!
Share in the comments your favourite health/inspirational documentary so the rest of us can check it out.
To your health!
