It is important to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables each day to maintain a healthy body.
Many people who are eating a standard diet are not eating enough fruits and vegetables. An efficient way to resolve this problem is to get into the habit of making a daily green juice.
Juicing is a great way to get concentrated vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients into your body. I like to think of vegetable juicing as more of a supplement to the diet due to the fact that juices are usually really low in calories but loaded with great nutrition.
I personally juice using a Breville Juicer that I picked up used on Kijiji for $50. The Breville can handle a lot of produce at a time and juices very quickly. It is also very easy to rinse clean compared to other more intricate juicers. Breville juicers are not of the highest quality and can damage some of the nutrients in the juice. Top juicers include the Norwalk Juicer (press juicer that costs around $2500), Green Star Juicer (twin gear juicer that can cost up to $800) and Green Power Juicer (twin gear juicer).
My recommendation is to start out with a cheap juicer and see if juicing is something you are able to fit into your regular routine. It should be an easy item to find used because many people have a hard time staying committed to making juice regularly when they realize it is time consuming and labour intensive.
When vegetable juicing it is best to use a combination of cucumber and celery as the base. They provide a lot of juice compared to leafy vegetables. Typically, veggies like carrot or beet which are higher in sugar are better in smaller amounts added to your base. There is an extremely low amount of fiber in juice so these vegetables can spike your blood sugar.
I suggest that you experiment with different combinations of fruits and vegetables and see what healthy and delicious concoctions you can come up with.
Happy juicing!

Hi Jesse, I just bought a juicer and love it but was not really thinking of the sugar content in carrots so thanks for the reminder
