These days, due to the internet, there are so many quality health foods just a click away – what a time of abundance!
Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s important to shop locally for health foods whenever possible – supporting small local businesses keeps money and jobs in your community and it’s better for the environment.
That being said, the selection of products online is usually more diverse and the prices are often better – you need to factor in any shipping and duty charges.
I find what works best for me is buying all my groceries locally and getting the majority of my superfoods and supplements online.
Below are my favourite websites for ordering health foods/products online.
Upaya Naturals – This is a large Canadian online store that carries everything from raw vegan foods and supplements to shower filters and rebounders. They state they are “Canada’s Largest Raw Food Source” and after taking a few minutes to browse through their website you will understand why. The brands and products that Upaya Naturals carries are of the highest quality.
They also provide free shipping to most areas in Canada on orders over $100. If you happen to live in Barrie or Toronto, Ontario you can take advantage of their pickup services – you save the cost of any shipping charges. I used to do pickups on my orders when I was going to school in Toronto and this service is very reliable.
Truly Organic Foods – This wonderful company is owned and run by Lee and Kent in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. They carry a number of raw, vegan, organic, superfoods. They also sell personal care products, handy tools to have in your kitchen, herbs, teas and supplements.
If you live in Canada you can take advantage of free shipping on orders over $100.
I definitely recommend checking out their website for more information.
iHerb.com – This is a US company that has a huge selection of herbs, supplements and superfoods! They carry a wide range of companies’ products that vary in quality – this is great because not everyone has the same budget when it comes to health food spending. If quality is a priority they do carry the best brands and the prices are great.
Mountain Rose Herbs (MRH) – Looking for seaweeds, cacao, medicinal mushrooms? You will find these and so much more at MRH. This site has great deals on bulk herbs of all sorts. I once ordered a 10 pound bag of goji berries from them – lets just say 5 pounds would have been plenty ๐
There are a couple of websites I’ve yet to order from but I feel they are worth mentioning – Longevity Warehouse and Earth Shift Products. They both carry high quality superfoods and I will definitely be giving these product lines a try in the future.
*Full transparency – I am an affiliate with Upaya Naturals. If I didn’t feel they were top notch company, I wouldn’t associate myself with them.
These are the best of the best when it comes to online health food stores. Find a balance between ordering online and buying locally that works for you and your family.
Keep on fueling your body with the best foods possible!

Hi Jesse
Have you done the 21 day raw diet Upaya Naturals or do you know of anyone. How do you feel about this and do you feel I would benefit??
Thanks
Robin

I’m not sure what diet you are referring to Robin.
Plenty of raw fruits and vegetables will be beneficial for anyone ๐

I have ordered from well.ca, iherbs.com and greensway.ca and its been ok. The later is a newer Canadian company and they only offer natural products which is nice so I don’t have to shop around and their prices are really good.
